Exporting activities

Export data from an activity to create various types of spreadsheet based reports.

About this task

Any activity member can export data from an activity into a Comma Separated Values (CSV) file. Exporting an activity into a CSV file enables you to move its data into a spreadsheet format.
Note: All dates that are in the exported CSV file are adjusted to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) regardless of the timezone of the server or the timezone of the user requesting the export.
After the activity is moved into this type of format, you can start creating several types of reports based on the data.

Procedure

  1. Open the activity from which you want to export data.
  2. Click Activity Actions > Export Activity.
  3. Select This Activity to export the entire activity, which includes all entries, comments, sections, and to do items, or select a specific section from the Export dialog box.
  4. Click Export.
  5. Do one of the following steps:
    1. Select Open with to choose a program in which to open the exported activity immediately. Typically, spreadsheet applications are used to open CSV files.
    2. Select Save File to save the exported activity to your local system and open it at a later time.
