Grow your network

Create a network of colleagues and useful contacts. Invite people to join your network by sending them an invitation, or accept invitations to become part of another person's network.

About this task

You do not need to be in Profiles to add someone to your network. You can connect to people directly from the profile business card in any of the IBM® Connections applications. For example, use someone's business card to add them to your network. You might see a person's business card in one of the following situations:
  • Run a search that includes their profile is returned as part of search results
  • You are members of the same community as someone
Note: There is no notification to alert you when someone accepts or rejects an invitation to join your network.
  1. Invite a person into your network
    Adding a person to your network creates a connection between the two of you. After your network invitation is accepted, the person is added to your list of networks on the My Network page.
  2. Accept network invitations
    When someone invites you to their network, you receive an invitation. After you accept the invitation, the two of you are added to each other's network.
  3. View network contacts
    See who is in a person's network by looking at the Network Contacts section of their profile. Go to the Network Contacts section of your own profile to see the people in your network.
  4. Delete people from your network
    Sometimes you must remove a person from your network. For example, if someone leaves your organization, you might want to delete them from your list of network contacts. The person that you remove does not receive a notification.
