Working with attachments

Replace or delete the file attachments that you added to forum threads.

Before you begin

To edit an attachment in a stand-alone forum, you must be the person who uploaded the attachment, or else you must be the forum owner or the Forums administrator. In a community forum, only the community owner or the person who uploaded an attachment can edit the attachment.

About this task

Adding attachments is a useful way to include supplemental information that is too long for the body of the message.

When you create a discussion topic or respond to it, you can share attachments with other people in the discussion. To delete or replace an attachment, edit the message. You can also upload more attachments as needed.

Procedure

To work with a file attachment, complete the following steps:

Open the topic that contains the attachment.
Click Edit and complete one of the following steps:
- To replace a file with an updated version, click Replace, click Browse to locate the replacement file, and then click OK.
- To remove a file from the post, click Remove.
- To add another attachment, click Attach a File, click Browse to select the location of the file, and then click OK.
Click Save to save your changes.
